Hytale Intel graphics crash

Update the game before changing settings. The Update 6 hotfix notes for build 0.6.6 explicitly list a fix for a random crash on PCs and laptops with Intel integrated graphics. If your launcher reports an older build, that is the first thing to correct.

First check: the build number

  1. Open the Hytale launcher and let it finish checking for updates.
  2. Confirm the game is on 0.6.6 or newer. If a later build is current, use the later build.
  3. Launch once before changing graphics settings. A crash that disappears after updating was a version problem, not a reason to lower every setting.

What the hotfix actually addressed

The official Update 6 hotfix list dated September 14, 2026 names a random crash on PCs and laptops with Intel integrated graphics. That is narrower than “all Intel crashes”: it does not prove that every launch failure on an Intel system has the same cause.

If updating did not solve it

  1. Install the latest Intel graphics driver provided for your exact adapter and restart Windows.
  2. Close overlays, recording tools, and GPU monitoring tools for one test launch.
  3. Return custom graphics changes to a conservative baseline. The settings page starts with view distance, not unsupported launcher flags.
  4. Test without mods and in a new world. If the clean launch works, re-enable one variable at a time.
  5. Report the remaining failure with the build, Intel adapter, driver, Windows version, and a reproducible sequence through the evidence form.

Do not confuse this with an FPS problem

A low frame rate and a process that crashes during launch need different evidence. FPS problems start with hardware and view distance; launch crashes start with build, driver, overlay, mod, or reproducibility details. Use the system requirements page for compatibility and this page for the crash path.
